Role Description

The Azure IaaS VM Support Engineer is responsible for support delivery, providing technical support to Azure customers by resolving technical issues on the Azure VM by leveraging the internal knowledge repositories, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Azure IaaS VM Support Engineer will need to closely collaborate with engineering, operations, and other support engineers.

Required Skills

As an Azure IaaS VM support engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Customer issue resolution and responsiveness
  • Drive communication with the customer to provide top-class support.
  • Collaborate with cross-group peers both proactively and reactively.
  • Document troubleshooting steps.
  • Identify current knowledge deficiencies and training needs, as well as potential future needs.
  • Implement your development plan, actively seek development opportunities, and complete all scheduled training.
  • Be available for weekend shifts during EMEA hours periodically, if necessary.

Qualifications & Certificates

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English is mandatory. Second language as plus

Soft Skills

  • Handle technically challenging and politically hot customer situations
  • Strong communications skills – Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Effective, polished interaction with customers to gather information.

  • Passion for technology and customer support

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Azure Platform (as a big plus)
  • Good knowledge of at least one of the two OS families:
    • Operating Systems (Windows and/or Linux)
  • Experience with VM configuration and administration
  • Familiarity with OS internal concepts (Windows and/or Linux) and storage
  • Demonstrable troubleshooting skills and experience
  • Virtualization and Cloud:
    • Understanding of virtualization concepts and virtual system administration
    • Understanding of cloud vs. on-premise computing
