Estarta Hosts the Second WEPs Jordan Network Meeting Focused on Flexible Work Implementation

Estarta was honored to host the Second WEPs Jordan Network meeting on May 6, 2025 in collaboration with UN Women. The session brought together companies and stakeholders committed to advancing gender equality in the workplace under the theme:

“Operationalising Flexible Work Arrangements: From Law to Implementation.”

This important session aligned with two core Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs):

  • Principle 2:Treat all women and men fairly at work – respect and support human rights and non-discrimination
  • Principle 3:Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all women and men workers

With Jordan’s introduction of new legal provisions in 2024 that grant employees the right to request flexible work, the discussion focused on how organizations can move from policy to practice. These reforms represent a vital step toward more inclusive, productive, and family-friendly workplaces — but their success depends on how effectively businesses are prepared to implement them.

Participants explored the UN Women-developed Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangements, gaining valuable insight into the operational and cultural shifts required to enable flexibility while maintaining performance and accountability.

The session also featured Estarta’s own experience in adopting flexible work as part of our broader commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We shared internal practices that help us accommodate flexible work requests, empower leadership, and build a culture based on trust and results.

Key discussion topics included:

  • Internal systems for managing flexible work
  • Leadership’s role in fostering a flexible work culture
  • Types and models of flexible arrangements
  • Performance management in flexible settings
  • Business and employee outcomes of flexible work

This event marked a productive and insightful step in strengthening cross-sector collaboration and turning policy into action.
